NYC lip plumping gloss

After using this product for about 2 weeks, I have a pretty good idea of what it does and what it doesn't do. First off, it's a great texture and doesn't feel at all sticky. It actually keeps my lips hydrated too, which is great. The color is very sheer but then again it is a lip gloss so I didn't expect major pigmentation. It does give shine also.

The plumping claim I can't really believe but I also have very full lips so that may be a reason why I didn't notice. Compared to other lip plumping products, it's very similar because I often don't see a difference with those either. The smell is off and can potentially be a bother to some people. All in all, it's good. I will continue to use it because I really like it and it's a rather small price tag so I imagine I would even purchase it (my original gloss was complimentary in a voxbox).

SweetHeart Voxbox

** FYI--I talk way too much so I apologize for the length of this blog post. I promise everything that I said is worth reading!

This month's voxbox from Influenster,  which is a wicked awesome website that sends you different products  for review, was a SweetHeart voxbox. I was really excited to get this box because all of the items in it were things that I had been dying to try. These were the contents:

Olay Fresh Effects {Va-Va-Vivid!} Powered Contour Cleansing System--$12.99

Olay Fresh Effects {Shine, Shine Go Away!} Shine Minimizing Cleanser-- $6.99 (full size)

Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response deodorant--$7.99-$9.99

Skinnygirl Daily-On-The-Go Bar--$9.99 (box of 5)

Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray-- $6 (full size)

Like I said, I was super excited to try all of these products! I am a huge fan of Olay products so I knew I would instantly want to try that first. I have a corresponding video review I made for the Fresh Effects so I will attach that, but overall I really liked the product. It reminded me a lot of a Clarisonic system (don't call me crazy for that) because the powered cleanser removed blackheads, dirt, and it left my skin feeling relatively smooth. Obviously the Clarisonic is a much more expensive system and so it does more things, but I think the Fresh Effects could be a great alternative for someone who doesn't need a high-powered system. For me, I will give my Clarisonic to my sister and use Fresh Effects (I'm not kidding). It worked just as well for me, but then again I have pretty cooperative skin so that certainly makes a difference.

I've been using the Secret Clinical Strength Stress Response deodorant for about 2 weeks now and I can accurately say that I like it. I don't love it, but it gets the job done. Will I repurchase it? Probably not. The deodorant functions as a deodorant and the price tag is a bit hefty so I have other alternatives that I like better. Reasons why I'm not a huge fan? I apply it in the morning and the citrus scent is very strong. 7 hours later the scent is still very strong, to the point that it overpowers my perfume I'm wearing. Some people may like this and it clearly shows that the deodorant is doing its job, but I prefer the scent to blend in with my body scent, not completely take it over. Another issue I had was it made me itchy. The formula is very liquid  like a powder liquid type format, and it irritates my skin. I prefer drier deodorants because I don't think they have that same effect but once again it's all personal preference. I will gladly finish my tube of this product and then go back to my Lady Speed Stick.

Skinnygirl bar!!! Oh em gee! Let's discuss the amazingness of this bar. It is by far the best granola/protein/high fiber bar I have tried. It's a fairly small bar but it packs in the punch. The bar is very flavorful and with only 180 calories, it doesn't sacrifice on taste. oh btw, the packaging says this bar is natural, kosher, and high in fiber. Like I said, the bar is fairly small compared to other fiber bars, say Fiber One, but it is very filling. I'm so serious when I say that after eating the bar, I was full. It had a very strange effect because it small but it was heavy so it filled me up quick. I would absolutely buy these again. And I know the price may be a bit high, but I completely think it's worth it. $2 for a bar isn't ideal but the taste and ability to fill you up are totally worth it.

Lastly, the hair texturizing spray from NYM performed well above my expectations. Normally when I want beachy waves, I spray salt water on my hair and scrunch it up. This spray works so much better than that! I recently went on vacation, to the beach, and I used this in my hair almost everyday. Even in the hot weather, my hair stayed wavy and the spray didn't weigh my hair down. I would do my hair in the morning and wouldn't have to worry about it again until the next morning, and it still had its wave. That's impressive!

Overall I really liked all of the products. Some weren't my favorite while others have become my new favorite. I definitely recommend everyone to check these products out because I'm fairly picky myself but almost all of these products exceeded my expectations.

Not Your Mother's® Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray

I was recently sent this Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray from Not Your Mother's in a voxbox from Influenster. I am extremely happy with the product and the results it gives. Basically it's a spray bottle and you spray it on wet or dry hair and then tousle your hair and it makes beachy waves. I was a bit hesitant to try it because normally I just use salt and water, the cheapy version, but this spray is a gift from the Heavens. That sounds a bit too crazy but it's the truth. The product performs extremely well, even better than my DIY option, and it smells much better also.

I used the product a lot during my Spring Break trip to MB and it made my hair look great all day. I didn't notice any residue, my hair wasn't weighed down, the smell was far from awful, and even during my late nights to the bar my hair looked great in photographs. I would highly recommend this product and girls especially know how hard it is for hair to look good all night; well mine did.  Give this product a try because it's not like it will cost very much and I can almost guarantee it will become a favorite in your hair product routine.

Palmolive Fresh Infusions Review

Hey everyone!

So...I was recently sent 3 bottles of the new Fresh Infusions dish soap from Palmolive (for totally free)! I'm really loving all three of the scents, Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme, & Ginger White Tea. I've long been a fan of Palmolive especially since it's the ONLY soap my mother ever bought, and these new additions to the product line are incredible!

I used the Lime Basil first and it literally filled my whole kitchen with scent. Even better is that it has the same cleaning power I would expect from the Palmolive brand. Being that I wash my dishes the old-fashioned way, (circa 1950 anyone?) I really enjoyed the experience of using this dish soap. That might sound totally foolish but I'm serious! The soap lathered up into an extremely thick foam, the scent was wonderful, the dishes came clean of major grease and my hands felt super soft after using it!

After trying each of the dish soaps sent to me, I gotta hand it to the Ginger White Tea. I thought for sure Lime Basil would be my top but the Ginger White Tea certainly swooped in for the win. The scent lingered all day, a quality that I think the other 2 scents may have been lacking. But I did give the Lime Basil to a friend of mine (another old-fashioned dish washer) and she really loved that scent so I think there may be a major tie breaker in the works.
Seriously though, I really hope you guys check out these new dish soaps from Palmolive. I know I was sent them for free, but they're only $3 at Walmart. No seriously, that is a wicked good deal. And the sizes of the dish soaps are huge! I compared them to other name brand dish soaps and you get major bang for your buck. It's a no-brainer. Give it a shot and see what you think.
